Longing for God
The longing for God is written in man's heart, because he was created by God and for God
God never stops attracting man to himself, and only in God will man find truth and bliss, for which in his earthly life he is constantly searchinga.
A particularly important feature of human dignity is that man is called to communion with God. From the very beginning, man has been called to enter into a dialogue with God, because he exists only because God created him out of love and constantly sustains him out of love.
A person cannot live a full life according to the truth if he does not freely acknowledge this love and if he does not fully trust his Creator.
From time immemorial until today, people have expressed their search for God in many ways through their religious beliefs and religious behaviors such as prayers, sacrifices, rituals, meditations, etc.
Despite the fact that these expressive forms can be ambiguous, they are so general that a person can and should be characterized as a religious being. But man can forget, not acknowledge and even explicitly reject this intimate and vital connection with God. Such attitudes can have a wide variety of causes: rebellion against the presence of evil in the world, ignorance or religious laziness, worries about the world and wealth, a bad example of believers, currents of thought contrary to religion, and finally the tendency of a sinful man to hide from fear of God and escape his call .
Although man can forget or reject God, God tirelessly calls every man to seek Him, to live and find happiness. This is what the Lord Jesus Christ clearly says: Ask, and it will be given to you! Seek, and you shall find! Knock, and it will be opened to you! Because everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it is opened (Mt 7:7-8).
However, this search requires a full effort of the mind and correctness of will, a sincere heart as well as the testimony of others who will teach him how to search for God. This search should lead him to the knowledge of the true and holy faith of Christ, which is preserved only by the True Orthodox Church. Amen!
